What are your biggest sources of stress and how can you reduce them?

Stress is a part of life, but it sure can cause a lot of unhappiness. What are your biggest sources of stress?  How can you reduce them?  As examples, moving to a new home can be stressful as can starting a new job.  I’ve done both of these over the past few years. Hopefully, these won’t happen at the same time.

I also use to worry more about forgetting things, but writing list things down makes that much less likely.  I find the act of writing things down on to paper gets them out of my head and relieves worry. We really can only focus on one thing at a time and it is difficult to focus when worrying about bunch of other things we need to do.

After I write my list of tasks to work on down, I really try to focus on one task at a time.  Sometimes priorities shift and that is okay, I adjust my work plan according. However, I always start with a list of things I need to work on. Multi-tasking can be a huge stress and really working on too much can leave us with too little accomplished.

Worrying about meeting deadlines at work can be stressful. In order to deal this stress, breakdown the project into parts so that you know you will do a certain amount each day and start working on it. Sometimes, when we have large or unpleasant task we may put off starting the project which can lead to even more stress and problems. Having alot of my plate at work use to bother me until I started writing down lists and becoming more and more organized.

A messy desk can also be a source of stress. I find cleaning my desk off of things to be helpful.
