Question:  Would it be possible to extend my Expert Contract for two additional years?  Is anything else needed for documentation other than the Memo to extend contract period of performance and add funding?   

Answer: Because this is a non-severable services contract for expert services, there is a possibility the award can be extended beyond 5 yrs.

Please provide a summary of what the expert is working on (Consulting/Reports/Preparation/Deposition) to justify the extension of two additional years.

Then I’ll consult with the lead contracting officer and let you know.

Per the FAR, 17.204(e) – Contracts, the contract shall not exceed 5 years.
